14 Creative Things You Can Do On Valentine’s Day
Each year we start to see the barrage of Valentine’s Day marketing trying to get us to buy roses and chocolates for our loved ones (or even ramp it up a bit more and buy jewellery and diamonds).
And each year it seems like there’s more pressure to buy more and spend more – like the amount of money you spend on Valentine’s Day gifts is directly linked to the amount you love your partner! Crazy!
But, there are so many other things you can do that aren’t related to buying gifts, that focus more on spending quality time with one another and that you can do together – to really celebrate your love for one another.
So here are some ideas for you for creative things you can do on Valentine’s Day (or any day really!!).

1 – Go For A Walk On The Beach
Classic, simple and still oh so romantic. If you don’t have a beach nearby that’s okay – head outdoors and find somewhere beautiful to take a stroll.
Check out what’s around you, you might even find some new walking trails or lovely parks to walk through.
You could even make it a whole day thing and pack a picnic lunch!
2 – Take a Class Together
Is there something you’ve been wanting to learn for so long but have been putting it off? Perhaps your partner loves cooking and would love to take a class!
There are heaps of different classes offered from cooking through to dancing, writing classes or music lessons.
3 – Write Each Other Letters
There’s something so special and romantic about a handwritten letter. And yes, that’s handwritten, not sent in a text message. Take some time to sit down and write a letter to each other.
You can choose when you open them too – perhaps straight away or maybe even 6 months or a year from now.
4 – Make a Movie
If writing isn’t really your thing, then why not record a little movie together?
Each Valentine’s Day you could add a little more to it and in 10 years time you’ll have this amazing little video that documents your Valentine’s Days for the last decade! How sweet!!
5 – Cook Together
They say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, so why not cook a delicious meal together? You could choose the menu together and maybe even make it a Valentine’s Day tradition.

6 – Make a ‘Wish List’
Not a wish list of items you want your partner to buy for you, but a wish list of things you’d like to do together and start ticking them off.
Set a limit of 6 things each on your wish lists and do one of them each month. That will get you through to next Valentine’s Day and it keeps the romantic V-Day vibes going for the whole year!
7 – Go On a Treasure Hunt
If you love to play games, this one can be loads of fun! Create a list of things that the other person has to find that day. But – the trick is, you have to get creative.
You could put down something like a heart shaped pizza to be super cheeky (and because it’s pizza… yum!!).

8 – Make Decisions For Each Other
Do you know how many decisions we make each day?? Hundreds! How about take the day off and let your partner choose everything for you.
From what you’ll have for breakfast and what you’ll wear for the day through to what movies you go to see or what cocktails you’ll have that night.
It can be lots of fun to see what each other decides!
9 – Create a Time Capsule
Put together a whole heap of items that represent your relationship right now and seal them up in a box. Then, set a date for when you can open them and you’ll have all of these memories to look back on and laugh about.
You could include things like photos, movie tickets, letters to each other and a newspaper (for the date and local events too!).
10 – Stay In Bed All Day
How good does staying in bed all day sound? Why not just spend one day dedicated to bed – where you put on a great movie, snuggle up with some popcorn (it’s okay if you get butter on the sheets, they can be washed!!) and just laze your way through the day together.
11 – Give Each Other Massages
Nothing says romance quite as much as the sensual touch of a massage! Not quite sure how to do it? That’s okay – jump on YouTube and find out how or you could even take a massage class together.
Add in some beautiful essential oils and you’ll be relaxed and chill in no time.
12 – Make ‘Vouchers’ For Each Other
You don’t have to limit your romantic vibe to Valentine’s Day alone! Why not create vouchers for each other that can be given at any time throughout the year?
Some ideas could include a voucher for a massage (see above) or they could even be super practical like a voucher for your partner to do all the laundry and dishes for a week!
13 – Ask Each Other Questions
When was the last time you sat down and asked each other questions? When we first start dating we ask heaps of questions, getting to know the other person. So why not do that again?
